Ron Paul - support for offshore drilling

In the long term, Congress must pass legislation like HR 4004, which I introduced earlier this month. HR 4004 takes a comprehensive approach by allowing offshore drilling, eliminating regulations that restrict refining, and suspending harmful tax rules that discourage domestic oil production. If we hope to have a stable, affordable supply of gas, we must allow the free market to operate. SOURCE

.....the administration has announced plans to explore opening up more off-shore areas for exploration and drilling. On the one hand this can be lauded as a positive step. On the other hand, it is too little, much too late....

Here's Prisonplanet publishing an article on offshore drilling:
Offshore oil production makes economic sense. It creates jobs and helps fulfill America’s vast energy needs. It contributes to the gross domestic product and does not increase the trade deficit. Higher oil supply helps keep a lid on rising prices, and greater American production gives the United States more influence over the global market.

Drilling is also wildly popular with the public.

Alaska's Murkowski blocks Senate on higher oil spill liability
Tags: * POLITICS/ELECTIONS/CORRUPTION

Senate Democrats Thursday lost a bid to raise the liability cap for oil companies to $10 billion when Alaska Republican Lisa Murkowski raised objections.
Webmaster's Commentary:

I wonder how much campaign cash Murkowski gets from big oil?
Funny, Rivero never asked the same of Ron Paul...? Rivero has enthusiastically supported Ron Paul and has never mentioned the least ill ease about offshore drilling. Indeed, Rivero has supported the "small government" and pro-business views of Ron Paul and treats ecologists as fascists (eco-fascists) or an integral part of the supposed "NWO".

So, you british assholes fuck up and cause millions and millions of gallons of oil to shoot into our waters and you say off-shore drilling isnt a good idea because a bunch of stupid-ass Brits fucked up??? Where's the story on BRITISH Petroleum's FUCK UP???

Way to shift the blame, you flaming dickweed!

ah, of course, it's all my fault....

nevermmind your hero politician's commitment to offshore drilling, deregulation, 'enterprise', minimal government. etc

Ron Paul wanted cheap oil - well, he's got it. It's floating out there in the sea.....

Here's Ron Paul, the futurist speaking in

"Basic economics says that when government restricts the supply of a good, the price will increase. Yet Congress continues to reject simple measures that could increase the supply of oil. For example, Congress refuses to allow reasonable, environmentally sensitive, offshore drilling."

Good job IGNORING my comment about this being the complete and utter FUCK UP by you asshole Brits! So, something isnt a good idea if it fucked up by a bunch of stupid assed Brits?

Well done for taking responsibility Larry. lol

Your support for offshore drilling and opposition to regulation contributed to the disaster, Larry.

Larry said...

SUPPORT for something is synonymous with "TAKING RESPONSIBILITY"??? Was Ron Paul ANYWHERE NEAR the oil rig when it exploded by the hands of INCOMPETENT BRITISH DUMBFUCKS?

Was Bush anywhere near Iraq when the USA invaded?

Duh!

Ron Paul - with your support - worked to remove environmental restrictions set in place to avoid just such an outcome.

When it blows up in your face you refuse responsibility. Oh big man.

"Was Bush anywhere near Iraq when the USA invaded?"

OH BROTHER! By FAR the WORST analogy Ive EVER heard in my entire life!

Ron Paul is not the President! He's only ONE vote on issues. He doesnt make policy. In Bush's case----ILLEGAL policy!

By the way, your new header looks 100% QUEER.

the_last_name_left said...

Dr Larry: He's only ONE vote on issues.

and so Ron Paul must take his due responsibility. He's not solely responsible - I never said he was. But Ron Paul is responsible, and so are you, for your unstinting support for him.

Moreover, Ron Paul introduced a bill seeking to remove the (obviously already insufficient) protections in place against a catastrophe occuring.

Ron Paul wanted less environmental protection.....and you supported him.

Now you're bleating it's BP's fault. BP operate under a regulatory regime dictated by the American state. Ron Paul has his vote in all that - you have yours.

"Now you're bleating it's BP's fault. BP operate under a regulatory regime dictated by the American state."

Whose oil rig was it? Exxon's? Chevron's? NOPE! It was BP's! And you have YET to hold them accountable!

Where SHOULD they drill? ON shore? So BP can bury a city in OIL???

the_last_name_left said...

Pathetic.

You support offshore drilling - you supported Ron Paul who tried to reduce restrictions against offshore drilling.

We can see the consequence.

We can also (now) see the refusal to accept responsibility by those whom brought the brought the situation about.

Easy to say "drill in the gulf", isn't it? Well, now you have what you wanted - and now you see the consequences.

The rest of us can see you now trying to escape responsibility. Gotta love conservatives and their mantra of personal responsibility.....

Larry said...

"Easy to say "drill in the gulf", isn't it? Well, now you have what you wanted"

We WANTED a bunch of British fuck-ups that cant PREVENT an explosion?

the_last_name_left said...

Larry, I suppose you've seen your hero Randy Paul's comments about people who blame BP?

LOL

Kentucky Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul said Friday that President Barack Obama's criticism of BP in the wake of the Gulf oil debacle sounds "really un-American."

Randy Paul says the president's response is part of the "blame game" that's played in the United States.

tut tut, Larry!

haha

have any of you ever worked offshore??.
This well was a fuck up from the start, everyone too afraid for there jobs to say or do anything wrong that they just go along with the flow. AMERICAN OFFSHORE CULTURE, the rest of the world is not like this, we have a voice. As for blaming BP for this, yes it was partly there fault, but BP is multinational organisation, bet this was planed in the states at the old AMOCO offices with out a brit in sight. The US has a lot to learn about, the way they work is not tolerated in the rest of the offshore industry apart from the states with practices that were banned in the UK still commonplace in the US, The US is looking at the UK and Norway to see how they regulate offshore drilling to see how it's done and the training required before you go do the same jobs you dont need anything for in the GULF. Europe learnt from the piper alfa disaster that was caused by an AMERICAN company that killed 157 men. I will leave it at that. The pair of you are a disgrace looking for someone to blame that was a combination of peoples fault

rig pig - thanks for posting.

but who are you calling a disgrace?

ron paul is *against* regulation - but *for* offshore drilling.
